Today I saw the feature film "Taken." It was pretty sweet. The film flowed well, and the action scenes were on the verge of fantastic since there was little noticable CGI. My problem is that is was the most predictable, plot hole filled film I have seen since Damon Waynes and Bruce Willis stared in "The Last Boy Scout."
I'm cool with a mess of junk action movie that ends well, but I was almost pissed off that Liam Neeson did the following in "Taken;"
Former CIA agent Liam Neeson told his daughter France was dangerous
His daughter was then abducted minutes after landing
Shot the wife of a French police commissioner
Knocked out a police commissioner
Killed like 20 people
Caused a borderline terrorist incedent at an airport
Used fake identification 7 or 8 times
Blew up buildings
Killed a Sheik on a boat while rescuing his daughter with no issue
Killed a French socialite at his own party with all his henchmen around
Stole a number of cars
And then got off the plane in America, all while not causing an international issue. In fact it wasn't even explained. I guess we are to assume that the French did not seek to file charges against someone who killed people in cold blood in their country while fucking up the infrastructure of a number of cities in the county.
In any event, baring these issues, "Taken" is a pretty sweet flick.
