Written by Max | 10 Sept 2009
It seems that every year, the NFL provides its fans with an unpredictable season. However, that doesn’t stop journalists, talking heads, and ignorant fans from making their own predictions. With that said, here are some pre-season thoughts from a man who likes to think of him self as slightly smarter than ignorant…

2009 NFL Draft Recap
| 01 May 2009

So I got 5 picks totally right, 6 if you count the Eagles moving a up a spot, which ties me with the illustrious Todd McShay from the World Wide Leader. I had no access from anyone but my brain to make these picks, and I'd probably do better on camera than him if you put a bag over my face....you know so I wouldn't ugly up the whole show.
It's amazing to me that I can compete with these people who are paid upward of 100-200k annually that are supposed to be true professionals when I all really did was look at team depth charts, think of how a coach drafts and watch every minute of the NFL combine. That's why I knew the Raiders would take crazy to a whole new level by reaching for Darrius Heyward-Bey with the seven pick. And me correctly making that selection, along with angering a bunch of hippies is what blogging is all about.
I would now like ESPN to pay me.
Best Day 2 Talent Available
There are so many diamonds in the rough in the 2009 NFL draft that put up huge college numbers, but have been omitted from rounds one and two due to measureables such as; speed, size, character flaws, etc. Many of these players will still make NFL rosters and be productive players.

Draft Preview
The 2009 NFL draft is about to get underway and there are so many questions to be answered. Will the Lions new logo propel them to the playoffs? Will they select Matthew Stafford? Will Aaron Curry become the man, how many wide receivers will be drafted in the first round? And finally, will this be the final season of Mel Kiper at ESPN? I don't actually think that the answer to the last question is "yes," but then again the World Wide Leader seems to be transfixed upon this Todd McShay character. While you already think I am insane for suggesting Kiper will be sent by the wayside, let's look at some recent moves ESPN has made recently.
- "Screamin'" Stephen A. Smith is out.
- Len Pasquarelli, John Clayton are leaving if you believe one website, they are staying if you believe another one.
- ESPN has already instituted a hiring freeze and salaries will not be increased for top level executives (parent company Disney has said the same).
NFL Team Needs by Division:
Some people truly love the NFL draft. Some people even go as far as to DVR the draft while they are out of town, hide themselves from any related content, and watch it straight through as soon as possible. Armchair Staff member, Love Without Nagel is one of those people.
