Apparently he has a name after the death of his basketball career. So let me get this straight, a former Gatorade high school football player of the year, U.S. Army Al- American QB, former McDonald's All-American who decided he wanted to play basketball in college has finished his four years of eligibility in basketball and now wants to play football? Ok, got it. According to reports, Paulus has garnered interest from the Green Bay packers, David Cutcliffe, and now Michigan? I'm borderline amazed that Syracuse hasn't joined the stupid convention.
Due to the fact that Paulus never red-shirted, he has one year of eligibility left (not basketball) and has been exploring his options. According to media reports, Paulus and Cutcliffe have "spoken extensively" about Paulus getting a try out at Wide Receiver......apparently a man like Greg Paulus isn't suited to play quarterback for a team like Duke......BUT apparently his IS suited to play quarterback at Michigan? This fall? Or play in the NFL?
This story is insanely confusing considering Paulus is short by quarterback standards (6'1" 180 pounds), and hasn't played a competitive game of organized football since he was in high school. That means he has not taken a meaningful snap since 2004. Also, not to be a dick, while he does have extensive credentials at quarterback, he was playing in New York state, which shouldn't mean much to.....well anyone.
So in the end, the only person with their head on straight is the coach at the shitty ACC football school.
