Lane Kiffin says, "What economic recession?" This week we look at Lane's first recruiting class. According to si.com and the Knoxville News Sentinel, the University of Tennessee spent $1,099,513.16 so far. Considering UT signed 22 players, this breaks down to almost $50,000 per signee. According to records Kiffin and the UT athletic department spent almost $836k from December 1 to February 4th.

To be fair, I have no idea how much money the Notre Dame's and Ohio State's of the college football spent to gain their recruting classes, but I assume it won't crack $50k per recruit. Lane Kiffin is certainly the gift that keeps on giving. Also, keep in mind that the monies spent almost certainly do not count coaches salaries, administrative costs and other aspects regarding the day-to-day operations of the football team.
Oh, and then there is this. Apparently Lane Kiffin has no regard to NCAA rules, and has committed his sixth NCAA infraction before coaching one game (unless you count the spring game). Until next time, ROCKY TOP DREAMS AND CREAMSICLE WISHES to all!
