New Author Brian H takes on the NFL.
The Wrap up - Week 6
Well, last weekend was quite the roller coaster. After Tom Brady skull F'd my 3 team parlay/Under bet, I was sitting about even (-$5) before the Wild Horses/Bolts game rolled around on Monday night. How is it possible that I wake up Sunday morning and say to myself "Wow, blizzard at Gillette Stadium?! The under on 43.5 is lookin great!" I shouldn't have jinxed myself when making picks last week - "Tom Brady could decide to actually show up at some point this season and put some points up." Thanks Tom. Without a career game - all in the 3rd quarter - I just about sweep my bets for the weekend.
The Broncos showed up for the Chargers game, in the second half at least (thats all that matters, right?). A slow start had me reminiscing of Broncos past...yes yes this is the Donkeys I remember. Turned out to be an awesome game, both as a fan and for the bankroll.
Throw in a halftime bet (broncos+2.5!!! are you kidding me!) and the game nets me an additional $85 for the week. Plus another $40 i'll be collecting on a preseason bet with a fair weather Broncos fan who didn't think the Broncos could win 6 all season without Cutler. Ha. 6-0. Something you probably didn't know about this game... a member of the Chargers game-day staff fell from the press box, ultimately leading to his death, before kickoff on Monday night. Shitty way to go...

That rabid SOB Dante Wesley was ejected from the Panther/Bucks game for attempting to remove Clifton Smith's head from his body. Brutal.
After all is said and done, I finish about +$80 for the weekend. Not bad.
NFL week 7
Like the Pokes, the Broncos have a Bye this weekend. I must divert my attention elsewhere.
The obvious choice? Minnesota (+4) @ Pittsburgh. This will be the game of the weekend, and i'm taking Minnesota to win outright. Don't get me wrong, Pitt is probably my second favorite team behind the Broncos (Roethlisberger is the fucking man, with a giant fan base), but I just don't think they can handle the one-two punch of the Viking offense. People think they were lucky against the 49ers and the Ravens, but I don't buy it. I will qualify it by saying Minnesota cannot win without their secondary getting their shit together.. Roethlisberger could chew it to pieces. With both teams having a fairly easy schedule to this point, this game will tell a lot about the rest of the season.
NFL week 7 picks
Minn (+170) @ Pitt** - Risk $10 to win $17
Arizona @ Giants (under 46) - Risk $5 to win $4.55
Arizona (+7) @ Giants - Risk $5 to win $4.55
Saints (-6.5) @ Miami** - Risk $10 to win $9.10
Chargers (-5) @ Cheifs** - Risk $5 to win $4.55
**3-parlay - Risk $5 to win $44.20
Total risk - $40 to win $83.95
Edit: Line moved big on the minn @ pitt game due to Palomulo's return and Windfield out. Took another 15 on Minn covering +6 after killing the college games. Risk another $15 to win $13.64... desperation bet.
New total Risk - $55 to win $97.59
